How Does It Feel Being Misunderstoood

For as long as I could remember, people have always had a misconception about me. I don't know if God designed me this way or something is wrong with people lol. I look at history and these people like me tend to be appreciated and idolised after death and usually these people make great contributions to mankind like Socrates, Aristotle, Einstein, Dr. Carter Woodson, Michael Jackson etc. I'm not endorsing everything that these individuals did, however, I am saying that society never accepted them or notice who they truly were until after death. Society held a misconceptual view about these individuals.

Even with my Open Thought project, with a simple method like free thinking people joked about it and didn't even try to grasp the real message behind the movement, all I got was; can i get a shirt?, the open mind guys, you guys do poetry?,etc. At one point I would try to explain but you ever try explaining the colour purple to a blind man? exactly my point!! I understand real intelligence is being able to relate to all individuals on any intellectual level and I can do that, however, it's time consuming doing it all the time. 

 How Does It Feel Being Misunderstood ? 

I hear people struggling with it all the time and I feel like as long as your intentions remain good, eventually the world will catch up. I have a book filled with ideas that society isn't ready for yet.  Sometimes I wonder if I was white if I would excel more with the mind I have but I have to accept the reality that we do live in a white world and pushing myself harder and being smarter is the only way. Racism is alive today more than anytime in history and it's worst today. I have to live not looking to be accepted by anyone and just live life not suppressing who I am for the satisfaction of people. 


For those who try to understand people like me, you will learn because, like history has projected clearly on a wide screen, we do share helpful lessons that help you with your journey in life. Being a deep thinker is hard just like any other gift God gives us but I've learn to embrace that about me. It's what makes me ,Me. Understood or not, I have my part to play in this world and no one individual stops that, sorry.

Both of my mentors has been grilling me for my attitude lately and yes I am confessing that I was trying to force a lot of things to happen. I got worried, I allowed the fear of the future to get me completely out of my grove. I remember I would wake up hungry, ready to take on the challenges of the day and lately I've had mornings, where I didn't want to even face the reality of what my life was. Why am I still in my box?

A year ago my mentor sent me an email about me being inside of box- not showing the world who I am, what my talents are and the gift that God has given me. Eventually I learned how to come out of my box while living in the UK and I was able to impact a few lives while doing so.  Living inside the box was safe, no one knew me, no one expected anything of me, I could be free well at least that was the illusion I was selling to myself. In contrast, living outside of the box created a passion, it made me feel valuable, it showed me my purpose in this world and that was real freedom - knowing everyday that I can impact the world just by being who I was meant to be, created a feeling of "flying" in my soul. I actually love being outside of the box although I am more vulnerable there but I think venerability is the one thing that allows people to connect with you. How do I make progress this year ? 1. Tackling the biggest misconception about new year's resolutions(NYR) - It does not have to start at the beginning of the year. Most people begin the year believing that change must be made instantly. It does not work like that. Change just like anything in the world that is worth having, takes time. Change is like a seed, you plant it, water it and make sure it is getting exposure to sunlight. By doing those things, you have made an effort and the rest is up to the universe to decide whether you are ready for a new plant(change) in your life.
