What is Open Thought??

                The name came to me while I was in Orlando in November 2013 visiting my aunt for Thanks Giving; my first Thanks Giving to, though I will never celebrate it again ( found out something disturbing about the festival). Anyway, yes the name " Open Thought" came from this weird idea that I could change the world by getting people to be more open mined about their lives and thinking. It sounds stupid but what if I told you it actually worked hmmmm.

                   With any great movement, you need a team so I assembled two(Nolz &Melky) of some of the brightest minds in my country (Turks and Caicos Islands) to help me formulate this weird idea and by my surprise they agreed; I wasn't expecting that but oh well here goes. So the agreement happened and the official group was formed on April 8th 2014 and we immediately got to work. Each month we would gather information and equipment needed to launch our project. And September 18th was the day we officially launched Open Thought. Tomorrow is our Anniversary of the launch and I'm thinking about the wonderful first year we had OMG, we accomplished a lot. God is Awesome
So What is Open Thought?

                  It's so simple even toddlers get it. Open Thought is you!!! You are Open Thought, every time you refuse someone's definition of life and formulate your own in hopes of improving yours without destroying or hurting others is when you are perfecting the Open Thought Philosophy. If a janitor sweeps a floor for 20 years does that mean he is sweeping the floor the right way ? THINK? or what if we told you the sky is actually purple? THINK?. We live in a world that generally accepts things as it is without questioning them, yet we all want a better world. To create a better world, we have to see where our ancestors went wrong and that's, Whites, Blacks, Asian, Chinese etc. We all have an obligation to advance humanity but we are failing each other.  Open Thought can change that with this Philosophy we destroy racism, religion and hate and build a new world. With this Philosophy, we CHANGE THE WORLD!!

Both of my mentors has been grilling me for my attitude lately and yes I am confessing that I was trying to force a lot of things to happen. I got worried, I allowed the fear of the future to get me completely out of my grove. I remember I would wake up hungry, ready to take on the challenges of the day and lately I've had mornings, where I didn't want to even face the reality of what my life was. Yes, somewhere I allowed society to contaminate my mind with thoughts of being an iconic success story one day. Why am I still in my box?

A year ago my mentor sent me an email about me being inside of box- not showing the world who I am, what my talents are and the gift that God has given me. Eventually I learned how to come out of my box while living in the UK and I was able to impact a few lives while doing so.  Living inside the box was safe, no one knew me, no one expected anything of me, I could be free well at least that was the illusion I was selling to myself. In contrast, living outside of the box created a passion, it made me feel valuable, it showed me my purpose in this world and that was real freedom - knowing everyday that I can impact the world just by being who I was meant to be, created a feeling of "flying" in my soul. I actually love being outside of the box although I am more vulnerable there but I think venerability is the one thing that allows people to connect with you. Making Progress On New Year's Resolution

How do I make progress this year ? 1. Tackling the biggest misconception about new year's resolutions(NYR) - It does not have to start at the beginning of the year. Most people begin the year believing that change must be made instantly. It does not work like that. Change just like anything in the world that is worth having, takes time. Change is like a seed, you plant it, water it and make sure it is getting exposure to sunlight. By doing those things, you have made an effort and the rest is up to the universe to decide whether you are ready for a new plant(change) in your life.
