Does Hard Work Really Pay ?
I label myself a success because of the obstacles I've overcome to be in the position I am in today. When my dad walked out on me as a toddler, the chances of me having a real shot at life was low, well, that's if you believe in that statistical nonsense. Obviously, I don't because I've defied every statistical analysis that was thrown at me. This period of my life would always mean a lot to me, I will always remember being 25 years old because of the thousands of lessons I learned about life and myself. I found myself, well, I saw myself finally. There's nothing to look for when everything you have is inside of you. Most people don't even need a degree, all of our gifts are innate. A university sharpens your tool. I study psychology because I love helping people and in order to help people you must understand the good and the bad about people and what makes them good and bad. My conclusion since I am a sophomore student ( that sounds so great btw :) ) is that our environment impacts us greatly. You want to become great, associate yourself with people who are accomplishing great things. Start a club or join a group of educated guys who are passionate about something. I guarantee you in about 4-6 months you will notice changes about you. Haha the power of your environment, do no underestimate it one bit!
Now to the main topic of discussion; does hard work really pay off? Nope! Now listen before you start to criticize me. I did not say hard works isn't progressive, it is very progressive but does it pay? I do not work hard, I work with a strategic plan I map out at the beginning of each year that gives me a 50/50 chance of accomplishing any goal. I fish out opportunities and capitalize on those that brings me closer to my 10-year life plan. That's how you work, you work with a strategy, not hard, well, you work hard with your strategy. How about rephrasing that way? I do not work hard, I will not lie to you, I give myself a chance to enjoy myself and the finer things in life.
My Advice: Develop a strategic plan for accomplishing your goals rather than relying on hard work. Hard work is cool but why cut grass with a scissors when there's an invention for that? I know, bad example but you get where I am coming from.
It's been cool until next time.
