Writing To Heal

When you're just different in a world that has developed standards based on it's own ambitions; life weighs down on you from time to time because the world no matter how picture clear you paint it will never understand the abnormality. From my book, notepad phone app, sticky notes, and blog, I write to heal the wounds from this world. My book has ideas I believe can improve the lives of many people in this world but at what cost? I feel like the more we as human beings try to help the problems of this world, they more we contribute to them and it's puzzling to meditate on sometimes.

 There are thousands of non-profits, charities, giveaways, etc.,  doing great things on a daily basis to improve this world, but can this world truly be helped when that faith is not of Man to decide? Only God possesses the power to change the world forever. It's hard for me to sit down and think that no matter what I do to help this world, no matter what sacrifices I make personally, though it may same like a big sacrifice to me, it will never be enough, money will never be enough, people will never be enough, material possessions will never be enough.

 Should I feel discourage? No, I understand that but this is where my wisdom kicks in, how can people passionately believe they are making a dent when really and truly they are barely scratching the surface of the problems? Is it to say they should stop ? No! 

If Martin Luther King had stop when his mind crossed this thought, the minority of conscious black people would not exist today in the West. Many people said MLK's integration message led to the problems we are facing today in the black communities where we've been oppressed in believing we have been integrated; when truly we haven't. That's another topic I won't discuss but you see where I am coming from? This man gave his life for change and it still fell short on a large scale.

 It's these thoughts I battle with from time to time; I won't stop my push for change but then again will my push be effortless ? Will it really make that difference?

Both of my mentors has been grilling me for my attitude lately and yes I am confessing that I was trying to force a lot of things to happen. I got worried, I allowed the fear of the future to get me completely out of my grove. I remember I would wake up hungry, ready to take on the challenges of the day and lately I've had mornings, where I didn't want to even face the reality of what my life was. Yes, somewhere I allowed society to contaminate my mind with thoughts of being an iconic success story one day. Why am I still in my box?

A year ago my mentor sent me an email about me being inside of box- not showing the world who I am, what my talents are and the gift that God has given me. Eventually I learned how to come out of my box while living in the UK and I was able to impact a few lives while doing so.  Living inside the box was safe, no one knew me, no one expected anything of me, I could be free well at least that was the illusion I was selling to myself. In contrast, living outside of the box created a passion, it made me feel valuable, it showed me my purpose in this world and that was real freedom - knowing everyday that I can impact the world just by being who I was meant to be, created a feeling of "flying" in my soul. I actually love being outside of the box although I am more vulnerable there but I think venerability is the one thing that allows people to connect with you. Making Progress On New Year's Resolution

How do I make progress this year ? 1. Tackling the biggest misconception about new year's resolutions(NYR) - It does not have to start at the beginning of the year. Most people begin the year believing that change must be made instantly. It does not work like that. Change just like anything in the world that is worth having, takes time. Change is like a seed, you plant it, water it and make sure it is getting exposure to sunlight. By doing those things, you have made an effort and the rest is up to the universe to decide whether you are ready for a new plant(change) in your life.
